Fall for Greenville
If there is one season we can't wait to experience in the Upstate, it's Fall. CNN has named Greenville one of the Best Places to Visit During the Cool Autumn Season. The leaves start to turn gold, the air becomes crisper, fall products start to arrive, and all of the fun fall events in downtown bring people from all over the US.
Here are five places to visit during fall season in the Upstate:
Falls Park on the Reedy
One of the most beautiful spots to visit in Greenville is Falls Park on the Reedy. Whether enjoying a nice walk in the park on your own, or with a group, this spot never fails to disappoint. Smacked in the middle of Downtown Greenville, the care from the City of Greenville really shines through. It's a tight-knit community that continues to love its city by planting new flowers, promoting local events, and not to mention the breathtaking waterfall that makes this space even more special. It's a staple in our town. Here are a few tips to make your visit even more enjoyable:
- Arrive early. Avoid the crowds and enjoy a quiet walk in the morning.
- Grab a cup of coffee or tea at Spill the Beans which sits on the main entrance of the park (they also serve ice cream... win-win).
- Follow the waterfall all the way down the stream, and pick a nice seat to enjoy the view.
This stunning state park will take your breath away with its beautiful trails, lake activities, and gift shop. We actually had the pleasure of working alongside the park rangers to design some candles for their gift shop. If you plan to visit, make sure to stop by and grab one to show your support for our breathtaking Paris Mountain park. If you live locally and frequently visit any South Carolina state park, we suggest buying their Park Passport Annual Pass. It has been one of the best purchases and helps save on park entrance fees!
- Preview the parks map to plan your hike, or just find the shortest trail to the waterfall and sit around in nature to relax and ground yourself.
- Bring your favorite beverage, and make sure to keep our beautiful parks clean.
Downtown Greenville is not a massive place, but it is big enough to allow you to walk down Main Street and get a taste of our cuisine, art and entertainment. If you find yourself hungry, here are some great spots that we have tried and love.
The Saturday Market
If you are looking to shop some of our best local artisan-made products, you are in the perfect place. Each Saturday from May until October, you can enjoy our much-loved farmers market on Main street, which closes from 8:00 am to 12:00 pm for visitors to shop for fresh produce, soaps, candles, and more from our Greenville makers.
Fall for Greenville
As the seasons change and it becomes cool out, one of the best ways to enjoy Greenville is to plan to join us for the final signature event of the year, Fall for Greenville. Enjoy food, drinks, and music with some of the best in the Upstate. From October 13 to the 16th!
